Purpose
The Territory Sales Manager will grow top line revenue and generate profitable net new business by maximizing sales opportunities in the company’s temporary and permanent roll off container services, cultivating, qualifying, and closing business for the company. The roll off division includes commercial and residential new construction, remodels, demolition projects and related permanent business.
Job Description
- Identify viable leads, manage prospects and acquire new, profitable commercial, industrial and recycling business to meet and exceed monthly established targeted revenue goals.
- Follow up on leads received promptly and create a follow up task to determine the next step.
- Develop prospect lists for new customers/opportunities; schedule and document all activities, and develop robust information profiles on prospective customers to facilitate acquisition of new customers.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations to prospective new clients; follow up with key customer decision makers to close sales.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends in designated markets to anticipate changing customer needs.
- Leverage existing services for new customer opportunities.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company’s available services, lines of business, and pricing structures; offer additional services to existing and potential commercial, industrial and recycling clients, including total waste stream management solutions, as appropriate, to grow targeted profitable revenue and contribute to Company goals and objectives.
- Conduct new customer reviews to ensure service and relationship quality.
- Monitor current marketplace trends including but not limited to pricing, service offerings, delivery schedules and results reports.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional relationship opportunities.
- Complete required customer service agreements, reports and other paperwork in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policy.
- Meet with VP - Sales regularly to review weekly customer retention and relationship activities, progress versus goals and status of key customer relationships.
- Build relationships and increase company visibility through participation in industry and community events, such as trade shows, chamber of commerce events and other events, as necessary. Act as a company representative at community events, where required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years relevant sales experience, including direct selling experience in a customer-facing role that involves identifying and addressing customer needs.
- Sales experience in the waste and/or construction industry, specifically commercial construction, single family residential, and/or multi-family construction; equipment rental business or other business related to construction.
- Proven ability to cultivate key business relationships with track record of delivering measurable results.
