Account Executive

Job Description:

We are looking for a talented, creative and entrepreneurial editorial account manager to join our dynamic and friendly team. Often coming from a journalism background, it is equally important that our account managers can spot a good story (and a bad one!) and work seamlessly with our clients’ communications teams. This is an amazing opportunity to join a remote digital content agency with a fantastic client base. This is a fully remote role, working on GMT/CET time zone, with very occasional travel.

We give organisations access to the technologies, processes and editorial talent to scale the work of their communications team and own the conversations in their digital space.

• Act as the main point of contact and workflow manager for three to four clients


• Lead clients’ weekly editorial meetings – where we discuss ideas, commission stories and review customer analytics


• Commission, edit, and occasionally write, dazzling content across formats including articles, videos and infographics


• Participate in regular ideation sessions, coming up with creative approaches to meet clients’ communications goals


• Work closely with a vibrant and fun team to improve our platform and grow our business


• Enjoy fully remote work and flexible work hours (around 6 core daily hours)

What makes you a great candidate?

• At least four years’ experience in digital communication or journalism


• Experience in working in a fast-paced, digital environment


• Confident drawing insights from social media analytics to inform digital strategy


• Comfortable in the use of cloud-based technologies


• Working language English, proficiency in one or more additional languages an advantage


• Degree or postgraduate qualification in journalism, communications, international relations, economics or similar desirable, but not essential


• Experience in finance, economics and/or business communications strongly preferred

Salary:

£35-40K, depending on experience, plus share of staff bonus pool and other bonuses

Hours:

37.5 per week (part time at 80% FTE will also be considered)

Holiday:

25 days per annum plus national public holidays and one 'life-event' day

Location:

The Content Engine has a team of 17 remote staff in the UK and a six-person head office in Geneva, Switzerland. While we have a strong preference for the Editorial Account Manager to be UK-based, the role can be performed remotely, subject to local employment rules and the ability to work in the CET time zone.
