About This Role:


This is a sales manager position as opposed to a field sales role. Success can only be achieved by thinking boldly, while working both with the customer and Kidde internal stakeholders. Up to 50% of the time in the role is internally focused working with all functional departments including the sales team. The overall goal is for the Home Builder Sales Manager to leverage the Kidde industry-leading position to become the overall Preferred Vendor in the Detection Industry.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the day-to-day contact with both National, Regional, and key local Home Builders across the United States.

  • Implement both the short term and long-term Home Builder strategy for Kidde.

  • Work with the Sales team to execute Home Builder Programs at the Regional level to achieve overall strategy success.

  • Responsible for the management and processing of the builder rebate programs.

  • Strategically work with Sales team in underperforming markets to increase overall market share by leveraging current and potential builder relationships.

  • Identify internal stakeholders capable of removing barriers required for success and customer satisfaction.

  • To be an advocate for the Builders within the business.

  • Execute Strategy, including but not limited to the following:


    • Annual Creation & Negotiation of both National and Regional marketing programs intended to drive Kidde sales and overall customer growth ahead of market. Programs should align customers marketing/sales focus with Kidde Corporate strategies (EX: Legislation, NPI’s etc.)

    • Establish minimum quarterly benchmarks to ensure the success of these programs.

    • Work closely with sales team to ensure accurate reporting of program success on a quarterly basis.

    • Engaging with national account partners attending national and regional builder events, attendance at trade shows, taking a leading role in industry network and peer groups at events and shows.

    • Attending regional sales team calls prepared to share the builder strategy and results.

    • Ensure builder program rebate accuracy when applicable.

    • Be prepared to provide summary of both Strategy and progress in formal form for use by Senior management on demand.




Basic Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 5+ years of sales management experience working directly in the Home Building Industry at either the Builder or manufacturing level.

  • 5+ years of experience creating, managing & implementing strategic sales plans.

  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Applicant should have ability to work with customers to develop mutually beneficial goals, meet quota, document, communicate & execute sales strategies for the assigned territory.

  • Possess excellent verbal communication and customer service skills, along with the skill set to present product solutions to the customer base.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work in a Direct & Matrixed Team selling environment, as well as influence cross-functional teams to achieve goals.



Summary:


Experienced outside sales professional, overseeing and participating in various Outside Sales and customer relationship management processes. Responsible for representing the company's interests, and building business relationships to enhance outside sales performance.



Job Description:


Acts as a main contact with prospects, develops a professional relationship and understands the customer needs to suggest products and/or services to meet the customers' needs.


Leads business development activities for prospects within defined customer segment to support the business strategy. Identifies bid opportunities, prepares bid responses, negotiates with potential customers and builds and maintains customer relationships to win projects.


Contacts new customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.


Participates as the management team representative on prospective target accounts. Establishes personal long-term customer relationships with prospective accounts to influence opportunities.


Attends and presents at trade shows at times to increase the visibility of the organization.



Minimum Requirements:



  • Requires advanced to expert knowledge obtained through advanced education, combined with experience.

  • Substantial knowledge of Carrier organization, programs or systems to make enhancements within job area.

  • University Degree or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 7 years prior relevant experience OR an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience.
