About the Role:
The Regional Sales Manager plays a key role in driving growth within the assigned territory. This includes overseeing current accounts while actively seeking new business opportunities. The position requires a balance of independent work and collaboration with various teams, including the National Sales Manager, Customer Service, Engineering, and Product Management. The territory for this role is WA, OR, MT, ID, WY, HI, NV, UT, CO, AZ, ND, SD, MN, WI, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with customers, identifying opportunities for both current and new product offerings while staying informed about market trends and their potential impact on the region.
- Assists in expanding market presence for newly launched products within the designated area.
- Exhibits initiative, dedication, and a collaborative mindset.
- Requires up to 80% travel within the assigned region, primarily working alongside designated sales representatives.
- Leverages social media and industry insights to discover and pursue new business prospects.
- Effectively identifies customer challenges and builds strategic connections within client organizations.
- Develops and executes a sales strategy to achieve regional targets, setting clear objectives and following through on commitments.
- Engages in negotiations for future contracts and long-term agreements, ensuring renewals and favorable terms.
- Regularly meets with sales agents to assess territory performance and provide guidance.
- Capable of managing tasks remotely when not actively traveling within the region.
Qualifications & Skills
- At least three years of experience in sales within the electric utility sector.
- Proactive, results-driven approach to sales.
- Background in selling high-voltage insulators or similar electrical equipment to utility companies.
- Strong existing network of customer relationships in the assigned territory.
- Comprehensive understanding of electric utility clients and their supply chain operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent industry experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, sales tracking, communications, and presentations.
- Proven track record in consultative selling, strategic account management, business development, and managing the complete sales cycle.
