GE Vernova Grid partners with electric grid utilities to deliver mission critical monitoring, analysis, and control system software worldwide through grid orchestration, and has launched GridOS, an industry leading platform. We are seeking a Sr. Director – Business Development Leader to join our team. This position will report directly to the VP Sales & Strategy, Americas.
Candidate will possess stellar interpersonal communication skills and high levels of commercial judgment required to achieve desired outcomes. Requires strong commercial awareness and is expected to influence the development and creation of business growth and predictability for the Americas region. The candidate will be the leader and manager of the Americas Sales Specialist and growth drivers, leading day-to-day team prioritization, standard work, best practices, and collaboration with cross-functional leaders to:
- Promote full product value to customers.
- Promote GridOS vision and strategy.
- Develop enablement for GridOS success.
- Ensure KPIs are aligned for the regional team.
Candidate will have demonstrated experience in a solution selling approach with a focus on top-down bottom-up strategic alignment. C-Level engagement, as well as operator level interactions, are critical to enterprise deal selling for customer-facing discussions and pre-tender and benchmark activities. It is critical to have a Business Development People Leader who can:
- Prioritize customer requirements.
- Drive solution-focused outcomes.
- Build strategically coordinated transition strategies.
- Unlock our underpenetrated areas in VI and GIS while leveraging regulatory drivers.
- Grow predictability in region through ARR and positioning the GridOS strategy.
Job Description Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze data to inform strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Identify and generate new business leads through various channels including networking, industry events, and partnerships – this role will build pipeline through hunting and gathering levers.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders and potential clients.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets and market share growth with a strong focus on building AAR.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align business development strategies with company goals.
- Engage with prospective clients to understand their needs and present tailored software solutions.
- Maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Work with cross-functional teams to prepare detailed proposals and presentations to communicate value propositions to potential clients.
- Lead negotiations and close deals to secure new contracts and partnerships.
- Work closely with the product development and marketing teams to ensure the solutions meet client needs and market demand.
- Drive standard work and best-in-class deal management utilizing established tools: SFDC, reports, dashboards, templates, including but not limited to business development activities, progress, funnel, and forecasts.
- Present the business vision of GridOS to Executive and C-Level individuals and be a trusted advisor to drive initiatives autonomously while gaining buy-in from a wide collection of stakeholders.
- Set individual, team, and regional KPIs based on the organization's sales goals and work closely with different stakeholders across the organization to ensure those goals are met/exceeded.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency – able to work under pressure, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
- Exhibit a strong sense of confidence and maturity, comfortable working in an open fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude with a solid understanding of key business factors.
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience proven leadership & management experience in sales, business development, and/or sales engineering consulting.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of software solutions and technologies used in the utilities industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- This role will cover all of the Americas region and will require 35-55% travel.

Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $159,000 USD - $198,000 USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for commission.
