As it continues to expand its sales and distribution network, the company is building a world-class sales organization to drive exponential revenue growth. With the leadership team in place, the next step is executing a structured sales strategy that scales revenue and expands market share globally.



The Role


The Senior Vice President of Sales is responsible for building, leading, and scaling a best-in-class sales organization to achieve aggressive growth targets. This executive will develop and execute a sales strategy that drives expansion across direct service distributors (DSDs), convenience stores, big box retailers, and multiple sales channels.


This role requires a proven leader in high-growth CPG sales, with a deep understanding of national account management, distributor relationships, sales force expansion, and multi-channel strategies. The SVP of Sales will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, and Operations to drive revenue growth and profitability while building a scalable, high-performing sales team.



Key Responsibilities


Sales Strategy & Execution



  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives.

  • Lead and expand sales into direct service distributors (DSDs), convenience stores, chain stores (big box, grocery, fitness, natural, etc.), and e-commerce channels.

  • Establish scalable sales processes and infrastructure to drive revenue expansion and ensure operational excellence.

  • Build and execute pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies to maximize volume and profitability.



Sales Leadership & Team Building



  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performance sales organization, including national account managers, field sales teams, and distributor sales reps.

  • Define and implement sales structure, compensation models, and performance metrics to optimize efficiency and growth.

  • Drive a high-performance sales culture, ensuring accountability for revenue targets, KPIs, and business development.



Distributor & Retail Expansion



  • Develop and grow relationships with direct service distributors (DSDs) and wholesale partners to expand product reach.

  • Lead negotiations and partnerships with major retail chains (big box, convenience, grocery, and specialty stores) to secure shelf space and expand market penetration.

  • Manage trade spend, slotting fees, and promotional programs to drive velocity and maximize ROI.



Revenue & Profitability Management



  • Own P&L responsibility for the sales organization, ensuring revenue growth and profitability targets are met.

  • Optimize sales operations, forecasting, and demand planning to ensure supply chain alignment and inventory efficiency.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Marketing to develop pricing models, promotional strategies, and go-to-market plans that maximize revenue and margins.



Market Expansion & Competitive Positioning



  • Identify new sales channels, emerging trends, and high-growth opportunities to drive market expansion.

  • Conduct competitive market research to refine sales strategies and differentiate the company’s brand.

  • Work closely with Marketing to develop customer acquisition and engagement strategies that fuel sales growth.



Who You Are



  • Proven Sales Executive in CPG


    • 10+ years of experience in sales leadership roles within CPG, beverages, dietary supplements, or regulated consumer goods.

    • Extensive experience driving sales growth through direct service distributors (DSDs) and national retail accounts.

    • A strong track record of scaling sales teams and structures in hyper-growth environments.


  • Deep Expertise in Retail & Distributor Sales


    • Strong background in selling into convenience stores, big box retailers, and grocery chains.

    • Established relationships with retail buyers and distributor partners in the US and international markets.

    • Expertise in sales forecasting, inventory planning, and trade marketing optimization.


  • Strategic & Tactical Sales Leader


    • Experience leading high-growth sales organizations with a focus on revenue expansion and profitability.

    • Strong analytical skills to track, measure, and optimize sales performance.

    • Ability to balance high-level sales strategy with hands-on execution.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience growing CPG sales organizations from $100M to $500M+ revenue.

  • Track record of success in hyper-growth companies (e.g., 100%+ YoY growth).

  • Experience managing and optimizing sales P&L, trade spend, and retail promotions.

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with major retailers and distributors.

  • Consumer packaged goods experience with direct service distributors (DSDs) and selling into convenience store channels.

  • Experience working in regulated industries, such as dietary supplements, functional beverages, or natural products.
